UTAS celebrates the Graduation of 837 Students from Al Musannah Branch and Rustaq College of Education

Muscat: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences– Al Musannah Branch, together with Rustaq College of Education, has celebrated the graduation of 837 students from the Class of 2025. The ceremony, held at the Rustaq Sports Complex in South Al Batinah, was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fares bin Turki Al Said, and attended by H.E. Dr. Saeed Hamed Al Rubaie, Vice-Chancellor of UTAS, along with members of the State Council, officials from North and South Al Batinah Governorates, and families of the graduates.

The cohort included 247 graduates from Rustaq College of Education under the Teacher Preparation Program in Science, Mathematics, and English, and 590 graduates from UTAS–Al Musannah in various technical and applied disciplines. Al Musannah Branch awarded degrees to 232 graduates from the College of Engineering & Technology, 123 graduates from the College of Computing & Information Sciences, and 235 graduates from the College of Economics & Business Administration. Rustaq College of Education awarded 97 graduates in English, 37 graduates in Chemistry, 39 graduates in Biology, 31 graduates in Physics and 43 graduates in Mathematics.

Dr. Nasser Salem Al Bimani, Assistant Vice-Chancellor at UTAS–Al Musannah, delivered the university’s speech saying: “The University of Technology and Applied Sciences continues to advance with a clear scientific vision that embraces modern technologies, aligns with digital transformation, and is guided by the spirit of innovation and excellence.

Across all its branches—including Al Musannah and Rustaq College of Education—the University has strengthened its academic programs, enriched its research environment, and empowered students with the skills needed for leadership and national contribution.” This was followed by the graduation statement presented by Dr. Sarah Mohammed Al Bahlani, Dean of Rustaq College of Education.

Graduate Eman Mohammed Al Jahdhami, Bachelor of English, delivered the graduation speech, expressing heartfelt pride on behalf of her peers:

"Today, as we stand on this distinguished occasion, our hearts brim with joy and fulfillment. We reap the fruits of years spent between classrooms and laboratories, driven by unwavering determination and a spirit that never ceased to strive for excellence."

Several graduates shared their reflections on this milestone.

Al-Houra Humaid Al Nofli, Software Engineering graduate said:

" It is a blend of deep joy, relief after long effort, and the wonder of seeing a dream turn into reality. It feels as though new doors are opening before me, inviting me toward greater ambition and stronger faith in the journey ahead."

Nojoud Ali Al Sharyani, Bachelor of Physics, added:

"Today I embrace the most rewarding feeling of my life—knowing that my hard work has borne fruit. Standing on this stage, crowned with distinction, fills my heart with gratitude and pride. It has affirmed that perseverance truly makes the impossible attainable."

Meanwhile, Nawar Habib Al-Blooshi, Cybersecurity and Information graduate said: “This moment is the beginning of a new and brighter chapter. I feel a great sense of excitement to contribute to building a safer digital world and to apply everything I’ve learned to protect data and information”.

In turn, Aya Salem Al-Hakamani, Cybersecurity and Information graduate, said: “Today, we stand at the threshold of a new chapter, empowered by the knowledge and experience we have gained, ready to contribute to the development of the Sultanate of Oman and to be part of its ongoing renaissance.”

The ceremony reflected the university’s commitment to preparing qualified graduates equipped with modern competencies that meet national development needs and support Oman’s future aspirations.
