
Salalah: The second edition of UTAS Pioneers Market Exhibition kicked off at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Salalah on Wednesday.
The two-day event features 25 projects undertaken by students from the UTAS, Dhofar University and Salalah Vocational College.
The exhibition seeks to provide a platform that allows students to showcase their innovations and promote their products in a stimulating environment that combines innovation and entrepreneurship.
The event aims to foster the culture of entrepreneurship among students, encouraging them to benefit from successful experiences and technical guidance that they receive, so that they could transform their projects into viable and sustainable business models.
Dr. Yasir Mohammed Al Yafaei, Deputy Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies, Research and Innovation at the UTAS, stressed the importance of the exhibition and affirmed its role in supporting student projects.
He said that the exhibition contributes to promoting initiatives, inspires the practical application of business models and develops critical thinking, problem-solving and innovation.
Al Yafaei pointed out that a key objective sought by the exhibition is to link academic study with ground reality, so that the students could understand market needs and develop their works accordingly.
