Muscat--- A two-day conference on exploring neonatal care experience of patients and families began in Muscat today under the theme "Care begins from the very first minutes".
The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Yousuf bin Salim Al Hinai, Head of the Government Communication and Performance Development Unit at the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers. It was attended by government officials, experts and specialists from the healthcare sector.
The conference seeks to underline the concept of family-centered care, engage parents in decision-making related to developing relevant plans and utilize the experiences of families as opportunities for the improvement neonatal.
This is envisaged to be achieved through the use ofmetrics, data and modern technologies, as well as the exchange of expertise and best practices among healthcare institutions—with the prime objective of upgrading human care in a manner that contributes to the realization of the objectives of "Oman Vision 2040."
The conference includes a scientific programme that comprises lectures, panel discussions and presentations about family experiences. It will see the participation of speakers from the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
