Contract signed to establish chemical mixing, oilfield equipment maintenance project in Nizwa

Nizwa: Nizwa Industrial City, affiliated with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), signed on Monday a long-term investment usufruct contract to establish a project specialised in chemical mixing and oilfield equipment maintenance, with an investment exceeding OMR4 million.

The project will be built on an area exceeding 25,000 square metres and is expected to contribute to enhancing industrial activities associated with the oil and gas sectors, localising specialised services and projects in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, alongside supporting in-country value and economic and industrial activity in the governorate.

The project comes within the framework of Madayn's efforts to attract qualitative investments to industrial cities in the Sultanate of Oman and provide an integrated industrial environment supporting economic diversification and the growth of the industrial sector.

The contract was signed by Abdullah Said Al Balushi, Director General of Nizwa Industrial City, and Mohammed Hamad Al Junaibi signed on behalf of Rabou Haima Trading and Contracting Company (the executing company for the project).

The Director General of Nizwa Industrial City said that the project represents a qualitative addition to existing activities in the city due to the added value it provides to the region, contributing to creating job opportunities and diversifying industrial activities, noting that the chemical mixing and oilfield equipment maintenance project is considered one of the specialised and rare projects in the governorate.

He explained that during the first half of this year, Nizwa Industrial City signed more than 17 investment contracts over an area exceeding 50,000 square metres, with total investments exceeding OMR12 million, encompassing projects in the sectors of medical supplies, oil and gas equipment maintenance, plastic industries, iron, metals, and chemicals.

He added that the Omanisation rate in Nizwa Industrial City exceeded 45 percent of the total workforce, which numbers more than 6,100 workers.
