Muscat: Oman Housing Bank launched its digital housing loan waiting list platform today, marking a new phase in the journey to obtain housing finance. The launch took place during the opening of the real estate exhibition accompanying the Khareef Dhofar Festival 2026.

The platform's launch ceremony was sponsored by His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, who explained that the digital service will enable citizens to register for housing finance electronically, eliminating the need to visit bank branches in the initial phase.

This represents the actual commencement of processing the 1,252 applications submitted in April and May across the bank's various branches, with a total financing value exceeding OMR 63 million . This step reflects the bank's readiness to expedite financing procedures and enhance service delivery efficiency for citizens.

The digital waiting list allows citizens to create an account, enter their personal, professional, and housing information, specify their financing preferences, and upload required documents electronically. They will receive notifications at every stage of their application until their turn to complete the financing procedures. This saves time and effort, enhances the customer experience, and reduces the need to visit branches during the initial stages.

The platform's launch is part of the "Book Your Turn" campaign launched by the bank to introduce the new service and reinforce the concept of digital government services that place the citizen at the heart of the development process, providing them with a more convenient and transparent experience in accessing financing services.

Musa bin Masoud Al Jadidi, CEO of Oman Housing Bank, affirmed that the launch of the digital waiting list represents a new milestone in the bank's digital transformation journey, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which aims to build smarter and more efficient government services.

He stated that the launch of the digital waiting list platform comes within the framework of the bank's comprehensive digital transformation strategy, which aims to completely redesign the customer journey, providing faster, easier, and more efficient services. This enables citizens to begin the process of obtaining housing finance electronically without needing to visit branches in the initial stages.

Al Jadidi pointed out that the platform's impact extends beyond simply simplifying procedures. It also expedites the beneficiary process and reduces waiting times, thus contributing to accelerating housing finance activity and supporting national urban development goals. This reflects the bank's commitment to providing innovative digital solutions that enhance the customer experience and meet the aspirations of society.

Al Jadidi explained that the Oman Housing Bank continues to invest in modern digital solutions, building on its successes in developing its electronic platforms and digital channels.

He affirmed that the next phase will witness the launch of more smart services that will make obtaining housing finance easier and faster, further strengthening the Oman Housing Bank's position as a development institution leading innovation in the financial sector.
