Divorce cases rise 9.9% in Oman two-year period

Muscat: The number of divorce documents registered in Oman increased to 4,208 in 2025, up from 4,122 in 2024 and 3,828 in 2023, reflecting a 9.9 percent rise over the two-year period.

Muscat Governorate recorded the highest number of registered marriage contracts in 2025 with 6,651, followed by North Al Batinah (3,753), South Al Batinah (2,683), Dhofar (2,462) and Al Dakhiliyah (2,425).

Muscat also registered the highest number of documented divorce cases at 1,220, followed by Dhofar with 716 and North Al Batinah with 705.
