Civil Aviation Authority announces resumption of drone and paragliding permits

Muscat : The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced the resumption of issuing operating permits for unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for governmental, commercial, and recreational purposes. Under the new directive, operations are permitted specifically within the green zones identified on the Serb platform.

The Authority also announces the resumption of paragliding, paramotor activities, all other aerial sports aircraft, as well as all aviation-related events and sporting activities.

This decision shall be effective from the date of issuance of this circular and will remain in force until further notice.

The situation will be reviewed on a continuous basis, and the appropriate decision will be taken in accordance with developments.

The CAA emphasises the importance of adhering to the provisions of this decision appreciating everyone's cooperation to ensure the highest standards of security and safety in the sultanate of Oman.
