
Muscat: The American Chamber of Commerce in Oman (AmCham Oman) has officially relaunched its Tourism Committee, bringing together senior leaders and stakeholders from across Oman’s tourism, hospitality, travel, and destination development sectors to support continued growth and collaboration within the industry.
The Committee will serve as a private-sector platform focused on tourism promotion, industry engagement, destination visibility, and practical ecosystem insight aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and the Sultanate’s tourism development priorities.
The Committee brings together hospitality leaders, tourism operators, investors, and industry stakeholders to support dialogue, identify opportunities, and contribute practical recommendations and initiatives that strengthen Oman’s visitor economy.
Rebecca Olson, CEO of AmCham Oman, said: “Oman has a remarkable tourism story to tell, and what makes the sector especially exciting right now is the growing energy and ambition across the industry. The relaunch of the Tourism Committee is about creating stronger connections between stakeholders, encouraging collaboration, and helping generate ideas and initiatives that continue elevating Oman as a destination.”
The Committee will focus on areas including, tourism promotion and destination visibility, visitor experience and service excellence, domestic and regional tourism opportunities, industry collaboration and stakeholder engagement, tourism workforce and hospitality readiness and ecosystem insight gathering and reporting
Samir Messoudi, Chair of the AmCham Oman Tourism Committee, stated: “Tourism in Oman continues to evolve through meaningful experiences, authentic hospitality, and strong partnerships across the industry. Hadi Al Sarhani, Vice Chairman of the Oman Tourism Association and Committee member, added: “With Oman’s extraordinary natural diversity, cultural authenticity, and strategic geographic position, the tourism sector holds significant long-term potential not only as an economic driver, but as a platform for investment, storytelling, employment, and international engagement.”
AmCham Oman noted that the Committee will also support structured industry insight gathering and engagement with tourism stakeholders throughout the year, with the goal of contributing practical observations and recommendations that support the continued development of Oman’s tourism ecosystem.
