UTAS–Al Mussanah to Organize “Empowering Rural Women” Exhibition on Wednesday

The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Al Mussanah, represented by the Department of Economics and Business Administration, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources in South Al Batinah Governorate, will organize the “Empowering Rural Women” Exhibition next Wednesday at the university Auditorium in Al Mussanah.
The event will bring together a number of government and private entities, productive families, and individuals interested in community empowerment and development initiatives. It aims to highlight the vital role of rural women in supporting economic and social development, while promoting local production and showcasing entrepreneurial projects and traditional crafts that contribute to the national economy and preserve Omani identity.

The exhibition will feature a visual presentation highlighting key initiatives and programs supporting rural women, in addition to a traditional performance presented by students from Al Muladdah Basic Education School (1–8), celebrating aspects of Omani folk arts and cultural heritage.

The event will also include dedicated sections for entrepreneurial projects, home-based businesses, handicrafts, and local products, providing participants with a platform to showcase successful experiences, enhance marketing opportunities, and introduce small productive initiatives.

The organization of this exhibition reflects UTAS’s commitment to supporting rural women and strengthening their contributions across economic, social, and cultural sectors. It also aligns with the university’s efforts to encourage entrepreneurship, innovation, and community engagement, while reinforcing partnerships with various institutions to support productive groups and preserve traditional crafts as an essential part of Omani identity, in addition to enhancing students’ role in community service and linking academic learning with practical application.
