Fak-Krba initiative contributes to the release of 1,519 insolvents

Muscat: The 13th edition of the "Fak-Krba" or “Ending Financial Crisis” humanitarian initiative, spearheaded by Oman Lawyers Association, has contributed to the release of 1,519 insolvents imprisoned for non-criminal financial cases across various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. This brings the total number of beneficiaries since the initiative’s inception in 2012 to 9,717 cases.

This was announced during a press conference held by the Association to mark the conclusion of the 13th edition of the initiative. The conference reviewed the key results achieved during the current year, emphasizing the Association's commitment to its humanitarian mission aimed at restoring hope to insolvents and reuniting them with their families by settling the financial obligations of eligible cases according to precise regulations and criteria.

Final statistics revealed that Muscat Governorate topped the list of beneficiary governorates with 567 cases, followed by North Al Batinah with 338 cases. The number of cases in South Al Batinah reached 142, South A’Sharqiyah 115, Dhofar 108, A’Dakhiliyah 85, Al Buraimi 67, and A’Dhahirah 66, while North A’Sharqiyah recorded 25 cases and Al Wusta Governorate recorded 6 cases.

The "Fak Krba" initiative continues its humanitarian journey under its permanent slogan: "Human beings deserve a second chance," embodying the highest meanings of community solidarity and affirming its role in enhancing family and social stability in the Sultanate of Oman.
