MUSCAT: Oman Air has announced a new travel requirement for Philippine nationals heading to the Sultanate, introducing mandatory pre-arrival medical screening starting March 1, 2026.
According to the airline, all Filipino travelers must undergo a medical examination before departure. This includes mandatory HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) testing, and passengers must present a valid certificate issued by an accredited clinic or medical center prior to boarding.
The rule applies broadly:
1. It covers all Philippine nationals, regardless of where they are traveling from
2. It includes those residing in GCC countries
3. The requirement applies only to adults, with children exempted
The airline has urged travel partners to inform passengers in advance to ensure smooth travel and avoid disruptions at departure points.
The move is part of updated entry protocols aimed at strengthening health compliance for incoming travelers to Oman.
