Oman urges firms to switch to remote work on Tuesday amid rains

Muscat: Due to ongoing weather conditions and flash floods reported in several governorates across the Sultanate of Oman, the Ministry of Labour has urged both government entities and private sector establishments to switch to remote work on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, where possible.

In a statement, the ministry said the advisory applies to civil service units and private sector companies whose nature of work allows remote operations and who have the necessary capabilities in place.

The move comes in the interest of ensuring public safety as heavy rains continue to affect parts of the country and cause flash floods in some areas.

The decision covers all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, with the exception of Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates.
