
Muscat-- HH Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat, chaired the Muscat Governorate Municipal Council meeting today.
The Council commenced its session by approving the minutes of its first meeting and the recommendations contained therein, led by the adoption of its action plan for 2026. This plan was established within a framework of interconnected operational paths reflecting a more integrated approach to performance and is centered on enhancing the Council's presence and effectiveness in monitoring local affairs and developing the quality of its institutional outputs.
Among its most prominent features, the plan is organized into several key tracks, including institutional integration with government entities, field communication, priorities of the wilayats, monitoring development projects, and developing human capital while raising performance efficiency.
The plan also placed importance on strengthening coordination channels with various relevant authorities to contribute to unifying efforts and addressing shared challenges, alongside expanding areas of direct interaction with the community through a field presence that enhances the understanding of local priorities. Furthermore, it included supporting directives for monitoring projects with a developmental impact, as well as initiatives aimed at improving institutional performance efficiency and capacity building through training programs to elevate the standard of work and keep pace with the development aspirations in Muscat Governorate.
