Muscat: The Indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran on the Iranian nuclear file are set to resume later today in Geneva, with mediation facilitated by Oman. The discussions aim to build on guiding principles agreed upon during the previous round and address recent developments surrounding the issue.
On the sidelines of the talks, Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi met with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency. The meeting focused on consultations and the exchange of views on technical aspects of the nuclear file, as well as new proposals currently under discussion between the Iranian and American sides.
Al Busaidi emphasized the importance of the IAEA’s professional and technical role in ensuring transparency, credibility, and proper governance of procedures related to the nuclear programme.
The renewed round of negotiations reflects ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and reach understandings that contribute to regional and international stability.
