Foreign Minister receives Speaker of Azerbaijan National Assembly

Muscat--- Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, today received, in Muscat, Professor Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan National Assembly (Milli Mejlis).

The two sides commended the existing relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Azerbaijan. They expressed their support for further development at governmental and parliamentary levels and their aspiration to expand programmes of cooperation in political, economic, cultural and scientific fields.

The two sides stressed the need to exchange expertise, and laid emphasis on the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting understanding among countries and peoples.

They also exchanged views about various regional and international issues and underscored the role of dialogue and international cooperation in consolidating security and stability.

The meeting was attended by officials from the two countries.
