Muscat: The Environment Authority is organising a two-day symposium on integrated management of radioactive waste. The symposium is held in Muscat in cooperation with Oman Environmental Services Holding Company.
The symposium, which brings together experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), aims to highlight modern methods in managing radioactive waste that is the by-product of medical and industrial applications, as well as radioactive waste of natural origin.
The symposium is being attended by representatives of government departments, academic institutions, research centres, private sector companies and civil society organizations.
The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed bin Salim Al Manthari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Planning and Health Regulation.
