
Muscat— The State Council today hosted a delegation of experts from the International Monetary Fund, within the framework of existing cooperation and the exchange of technical expertise related to the economic and financial situation.
The meeting discussed several key areas, most notably the fiscal and economic developments, particularly those related to public finance performance, levels of expenditure and revenue, current economic balances, and the economic and financial reforms adopted by the Sultanate of Oman.
The discussions also covered the reflection of these reforms on growth, the effectiveness of the pursued policies in enhancing fiscal sustainability, and structural reforms in light of "Oman Vision 2040," including promoting the role of the private sector, developing productive sectors, and improving the business environment, as well as the Eleventh Five-Year Plan.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on existing challenges and available opportunities to enhance economic growth and improve the efficiency of fiscal policies
