OSHRM felicitates winners of Excellence in Human Resources Management Award

Muscat: The Omani Society for Human Resources Management (OSHRM) on Monday felicitated the distinguished institutions and individuals recognised with the Excellence in Human Resources Management Award.

The award seeks to honour organisations demonstrating exceptional practices, strategies, and innovations in human resources, while fostering the exchange of exemplary initiatives and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement in workplace environments.

Under the patronage of Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, the ceremony highlighted the award's significance in advancing human capital development and promoting innovative, sustainable work environments across both public and private sectors, with special emphasis for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Dr. Ghaleb bin Saif Al Hosani, OSHRM Chairman, emphasized that these awards constitute a national platform recognizing those who have made substantial contributions to enhancing workplace environments and advancing empowerment and innovation in human resources.

He noted that the evaluation process adhered to rigorous criteria including creativity and innovation, organisational impact, sustainable practices, leadership excellence, active employee participation, alongside digital transformation initiatives and workplace wellness enhancements.

He further stated that this initiative marks a significant advancement in reinforcing the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to adopting superior human resources practices and encouraging organizations to prioritize human capital investment as fundamental to sustainable development.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) received the Human Resources Innovation Award in the government sector, while the Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) and the Saudi Telecom Company (stc) were honoured in the private sector category for their implementation of innovative initiatives advancing human resources development through cutting-edge performance management and talent acquisition systems.

Occidental Oman was distinguished with the Digital Transformation Award for its deployment of digital solutions revolutionizing human resources operations.

SOHAR Port and Freezone, along with Oman Data Park, were awarded the Workplace Health and Wellbeing Award for their outstanding programs promoting employee health and welfare.

Within the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) category, the National Technology Group earned the Human Resources Excellence Award for its exceptional implementation of human resources practices, development of performance management systems, employee engagement initiatives, and adoption of human resources technology.

In academic recognition, Dr. Said bin Ali Al Hassani honoured with the OSHRM grant for best academic research in human resources, a competitive grant open to researchers from academic institutions, consulting firms, and independent scholars proposing solutions to industry challenges, designed to advance knowledge and understanding in the human resources field.

The Best CEO Award was conferred upon both Ashraf bin Hamad Al Mamari, Chief Executive Officer of OQ, and Said bin Abdullah Al Manthari, Chief Executive Officer of ITHCA Group, acknowledging their inspirational leadership in elevating human resources practices within their respective organizations.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) received the Best Human Resources Team Award in the government sector, with the Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) recognised in the private sector for their concerted efforts in establishing positive work environments.

Faisal bin Ali Al Mamari from OQ Gas Networks was honoured with the Best Human Resources Manager Award for his strategic guidance and innovative approaches to fostering positive organizational culture while navigating challenges in an evolving workplace landscape.

Rawan Al Ujaili received the Best Generation Z Employee Award for demonstrating remarkable potential, innovation, and dedication within her organisation.

The event also featured the unveiling of the new identity for the Omani Society for Human Resources Management and the signing of a partnership agreement between the Society and Saudi Tharwah Group.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials from both public and private sectors at Al Irfan City, Muscat Governorate.
