Muscat: The Royal Academy of Management (RAM) has announced the winner of the Future Readiness Award, launched in partnership withThinkers50, at a ceremony held at London’s historic Guildhall.
The announcement marks a celebration of achievement and a tribute to innovative and influential contributions shaping global thinking on how leaders and institutions can anticipate change and strengthen preparedness for the future. The award attracted more than 300 submissions from across the world, including books, research papers, frameworks, and leadership tools — all reflecting a rich diversity of ideas on what it means to be truly future-ready.
In August 2025,eight finalists were shortlisted, and the winner was revealed at the closing ceremony attended by senior officials, international experts, academics, and leading voices in leadership and foresight — reaffirming the award’s position as a global platform for excellence in management and strategic leadership.
The award aims to nurture a culture of forward-looking leadership and to strengthen institutional capability by recognizing research and initiatives that demonstrate adaptability and readiness in an era of rapid transformation.
Dr Ali Al Lawati, President of the Royal Academy of Management, emphasized that the award represents one of RAM’s global initiatives, reflecting its vision of embedding future readiness as a defining pillar of sustainable leadership.
Al Lawati added, “Across the world, the very notion of ‘readiness’ is being redefined. Technology, values, and expectations are shifting faster than ever, and what once defined success no longer guarantees relevance. At the Royal Academy of Management, we see future readiness not as a skill to be taught but as a mindset to be cultivated - the discipline to stay curious when others rush to conclude, and the courage to act with principle when the path ahead is uncertain.”
“This award marks a milestone in RAM’s journey to bring Omani leadership thinking to the global stage. Through the Future Readiness Award, we honour those who lead with imagination and resolve - those who remind us that the future is not a distant horizon, but something we design every day through our decisions, our leadership, and our shared humanity.”
He also highlighted the importance of international partnerships, adding: “Our collaboration withThinkers50brings together global perspectives and pioneering local experience. It strengthens the exchange of ideas, advances leadership thinking, and builds enduring knowledge bridges from Oman to the world.”
On his turn, Des Dearlove, Co-founder of Thinkers50 said, “Leadership today must transcend boundaries. The Future Readiness Award embodies a shared conviction that leaders everywhere must anticipate, adapt, and act with clarity and purpose. In a world of accelerating change, the ability to think ahead — and to act with intention — is the hallmark of great leadership.”
Shama Al Toobi, Lead of the Award Team at the Royal Academy of Management, described the award as a vibrant platform for collaboration and learning, “The Future Readiness Award goes beyond recognition. It is a living platform for dialogue, exchange, and continuous learning. The diversity of entries from around the world reflects a growing commitment to building practical models for adaptation and resilience. At RAM, we are transforming this shared knowledge into meaningful initiatives that develop national capabilities, inspire foresight-driven leadership, and enable organisations to create lasting and measurable impact.”
The 2025 Future Readiness Award was awarded to Amy Webb.
