Pakistan Schools Oman marks 50 years of educational excellence

Muscat: Pakistan Schools Oman celebrated its Golden Jubilee with great pride and dignity, commemorating 50 years of academic excellence, moral education, cultural harmony, and dedicated service to humanity.


The momentous event was held in Muscat and graced by the presence of Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, as the Chief Guest.

In his address, the Minister paid tributes to Pakistan Schools Oman for its five decades of distinguished service, stating that the institution has become “a beacon of discipline, quality education, and intercultural harmony, not only for the Pakistani community but also for students of other nationalities.”

The Golden Jubilee celebration was attended by a distinguished gathering of dignitaries, officials, and diplomats from Oman, Pakistan, and several friendly countries. Prominent among those in attendance were: Dr. Khadija Al-Salmi, Director General, Ministry of Education and Training, Oman, Ms. Yusra Al-Harthi, Head of UNESCO Oman, Salem Al-Mahrouqi, Speaker of the Majlis Al-Shura, Dr. Ali Al-Harassi, Member of Majlis Al-Shura, Senator Awais Baqwei, Sheikh Najib Al-Zadjali, Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman, Ambassadors from the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, China, Sudan, and several other countries.

In his message, Ambassador Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari emphasised that “Pakistan–Oman relations continue to strengthen through mutual cooperation in education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.”

Addressing the gathering, Ameer Hamza, Chairman of the Board of Directors, reflected on the institution’s remarkable fifty-year journey, stating: “Pakistan Schools Oman is the only non-profit Pakistani educational institution in the Gulf region that continues to grow sustainably through its own resources and unwavering commitment. Our foundation is built upon transparency, integrity, and sound governance.”

He further highlighted that, for the first time in a decade, a comprehensive external audit of Pakistan Schools Oman has been successfully completed — a historic milestone reflecting the institution’s strong commitment to financial transparency and accountability.

He also noted that the student enrolment has doubled in the past three years, a testament to the trust of parents, the dedication of teachers, and the institution’s enduring academic reputation.

Future Vision and Development Projects

Hamza also announced that Pakistan Schools Oman has embarked on three major infrastructure projects worth over OMR 5 million, aimed at transforming the educational landscape for the next generation. These include: The New Mabela Campus, designed as a state-of-the-art facility offering modern classrooms, digital learning spaces, and sports amenities.

The Sohar School Expansion Project, which includes the construction of a new academic block and advanced science laboratories.

The Nizwa and Buraimi Development Initiative, focused on upgrading facilities, introducing innovation hubs, and enhancing accessibility for students across the region.

He added that these projects reflect the institution’s long-term commitment to sustainability, innovation, and excellence, ensuring that Pakistan Schools Oman remains a leader in community-based education in the Gulf.

The event was attended by a large number of community members, alumni, parents, teachers, and students, who joined together to celebrate this historic milestone.

The Golden Jubilee truly marked the celebration of a half-century legacy of service, integrity, education, and humanity — reaffirming that with vision, transparency, and steadfast determination, Pakistan Schools Oman continues to shape a brighter future for generations to come.
