Tropical depression centred in the southern Arabian Sea

Muscat: The latest weather maps and analyses by the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre show that the tropical depression is centred in the southern Arabian Sea at longitude 68.4 east and latitude 15.1 north. Wind speed around the centre is estimated at 20-27 knots (50-38 km/h).

Forecasts also indicate that the tropical depression will continue moving westward to northwesterly over the next two days, with no direct impact on the Sultanate of Oman.

Seas are expected to be calm to moderate along the Arabian Sea coast, with maximum waves ranging from one to two meters.
