Muscat: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, in collaboration with the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Social Development, has allocated residential and commercial investment lands in strategic locations across Oman’s wilayats to charity teams and Zakat committees.
This initiative benefits 64 charity teams and 66 Zakat committees, in appreciation of their vital role in caring for deserving families and providing social support.
The goal is to enable these institutions to generate sustainable self-resources by investing in and developing the allocated lands. The revenues will directly benefit the community, contributing to family stability and strengthening social cohesion.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning is responsible for providing the lands in strategic locations in wilayat centres. The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Social Development will be responsible for setting the specific regulations for managing these lands to ensure the sustainable efficiency of the institutions’ resources.
This initiative is a practical reflection of the humanitarian and social roles undertaken by charity teams and Zakat committees, and their efforts in assisting struggling families and supporting needy groups. It also reinforces the values of solidarity, social cohesion, and sustainable social development.
