Khasab: The completion rate of the Musandam Centre for Culture and Innovation project in the Wilayat of Khasab has reached 78%. The project is being constructed on an area of 10,500 square metres, with a built-up area of 2,733 square metres.
Abdullah Ahmed Al Shehi, Assistant Head of the Musandam Governor’s Office, stated that the project aims to establish an integrated, multipurpose complex serving the local community in the fields of education, culture, environment, sports, tourism, and entrepreneurship.
He affirmed that upon completion, the center will become one of the prominent landmarks in Musandam Governorate and a distinguished tourist destination that contributes to supporting and enhancing various activities in the governorate.
He added that the center includes a building dedicated to education and innovation under the Ministry of Education, as well as a cultural building affiliated to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth. It also features commercial units supervised by Musandam Municipality, various water sports facilities managed by Oman Sail, an open-air theater, and a dedicated children’s play area.
Al Shehi affirmed that the project represents a qualitative leap in the development journey of Musandam Governorate, combining education, culture, innovation, tourism, and sports activities into an integrated system. This makes it one of the most prominent projects supporting "Oman Vision 2040" towards building an innovative society and a knowledge-based economy.
He noted that the establishment of Musandam Centre for Culture and Innovation is part of national efforts to achieve sustainable development and enhance cultural and educational infrastructure in the governorate.
The center is funded through contributions from several oil and gas companies, including OQ Group, Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), Occidental Oman, BP Oman, Daleel Petroleum, CC Energy Development, and ARA Petroleum. OQ Exploration and Production is responsible for supervising and monitoring the implementation phase.
