People urged to donate platelets in Oman

Muscat : The Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) has made an urgent appeal to people with O (+ve) blood type to donate platelets at the Central Blood Bank in Baushar.

DBBS said in a statement :"To ensure the success of an emergency liver transplant, we are urging O+ blood donors to go to the Central Blood Bank in Bausher today to donate platelets."

"The blood donation hours at the Central Blood Bank in Baushar is from  Saturday to Thursday from 8 am to 6 pm, and on Friday from 8 am to 1 pm," the statement added.
