Muscat: Pakistan Schools Oman stand as a testament to the enduring friendship between Oman and Pakistan.
The journey began with the generous support of the Government of Oman, which provided land for the school—an invaluable contribution that laid the foundation for an educational system deeply rooted in both Pakistani and Omani cultures.
As Pakistan School Muscat marks its 50th anniversary this year, it is a moment of reflection on its remarkable achievements and transformative developments over the past five decades.
Today, Pakistan Schools in Oman operate across seven branches, with Muscat and Seeb being the largest, and Salalah offering an international stream alongside the Pakistani curriculum.
Sohar is set for significant expansion, while Seeb and Nizwa are preparing to extend their academic reach in the upcoming session.
Suwaiq and Buraimi continue to strengthen their impact within their respective communities.
The network of Pakistan Schools in Oman is not just an educational initiative but a symbol of the strategic and brotherly alliance between the two nations.
A key milestone in our journey is the development of a new campus in Seeb, made possible by the generous support of the Omani government, which granted two acres of land for this purpose. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Housing for facilitating this allotment and to the Ministry of Education for their unwavering support and supervision throughout this process.
The Ministry of Education’s continuous guidance has been instrumental in our progress, including regular visits to analyze and enhance our educational standards.
Their recent delegation on February 19, 2025, underscores their commitment to our institution’s growth. We also extend our gratitude to the former Ambassador of Pakistan, Imran Ali Chaudhry, for his instrumental role in securing this land.
Additionally, the new campus of Pakistan School Muscat is also in the pipeline, with construction set to commence soon. The expansion of the Buraimi and Salalah branches is another step toward accommodating the growing student body.
Like many institutions worldwide, Pakistan schools faced immense challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, enduring substantial financial and academic setbacks.
However, rather than faltering, the school emerged stronger, embarking on an ambitious journey of revival and progress. Since 2021, a series of bold initiatives have propelled the schools sytem to new heights, ensuring that it stands on par with the best international schools in Oman.
A major turning point in this transformation was aligning with Oman’s Vision 2040. External academic and financial audits were conducted post-pandemic to assess the institution’s needs.
Based on the findings, swift measures were implemented to bridge gaps, ensuring infrastructure improvements, enhanced hygiene standards, and access to clean drinking water.
Smart boards were installed in all classrooms across all branches, and laboratories and libraries were upgraded, creating a modern and dynamic learning environment.
Beyond infrastructure, academic excellence became a primary focus. Alongside the existing Pakistani stream, the Cambridge curriculum was introduced to broaden educational choices.
Digital transformation was prioritised, making PSM a fully digitised institution for data management and academic operations.
In a groundbreaking move, PSM became the first proud partner of UNESCO in Oman, championing equitable education as it caters to students from over 19 nationalities.
To further integrate global educational trends, the Department of Research and Development was established in 2024.
This department is dedicated to embedding Oman’s Vision 2040 into the academic framework while incorporating the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 21st-century skills.
The curriculum now fosters critical thinking, digital literacy, and student well-being, ensuring that PSM graduates are well-equipped for the future.
Additionally, the R&D department oversees external and in-house teacher training programs to continuously enhance the quality of education.
Recognising the importance of sustainability, Pakistan Schools Oman have transitioned towards a paper-free environment through project-based learning.
Additionally, e-classes for Grade 8 and S1 will be launched from the next academic session, along with the introduction of the BTEC Level 3 Business Extended Diploma, further strengthening the school’s digital integration.
Community outreach remains a priority, with Pakistan Schools Oman forging collaborations with universities and colleges to enhance opportunities for higher education and professional development.
Strengthening this commitment, financial audits were conducted in 2022—after being pending since 2016—confirming that the schools are now in surplus profit after decades of financial challenges.
This fiscal stability allows for continued advancements in infrastructure and academics.
Parental and community engagement has also been reinforced. A Parent Council has been established to serve as the school’s ambassadors, strengthening the partnership between the institution and families.
Additionally, student voice and choice are prioritized, ensuring that their aspirations align with the school’s vision and mission.
