Muscat: The Omani Lawyers Association has launched the 12th edition of the "Fak Kurbah" initiative, a charitable campaign designed to collect financial donations for the release of individuals imprisoned due to insolvency.
Dr. Hamad bin Hamdan Al Rubaie, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Omani Lawyers Association, emphasised that the initiative is a continuation of the association's commitment to humanitarian work within Omani society.
"Since its inception, the initiative has demonstrated the noble goals and values inherent in Omani society, reflecting the spirit of cooperation and solidarity among its members and institutions," said Al Rubaie. "This is evident in the initiative's statistics from previous years, which have enabled us to assist a significant number of deserving individuals."
Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Zadjali, General Supervisor of the "Fak Kurbah" initiative, stated, "The initiative, under the supervision of the Omani Lawyers Association, has been running for 11 years. In previous editions, we successfully facilitated the release of over 7,110 insolvent individuals who met the initiative's criteria."
He added that this year's initiative aims to release approximately 1,300 individuals, with support from community members and various institutions.
Al Rubaie detailed that donations can be made electronically through the initiative's website (www.fakkrba.om), via the initiative's bank account, and through the "Thawani" mobile application.
