SAF Chief of Staff receives commander of French forces in Indian Ocean

Muscat: Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) received in his office at Al Murtafa’a Garrison today the Commander of the French Forces in the Indian Ocean and the military delegation accompanying him.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed several military matters of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by Brigadier Hamid Abdullah Al Balushi, SAF Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations and Planning, senior COSAF officers and the military attaché to the Embassy of the French Republic in Muscat.

French military official visits MSC

Rear Admiral Hugues Lainé of the French Navy and the military delegation accompanying him today visited the Maritime Security Centre (MSC).

Members of the delegation were greeted upon their arrival at the MSC by the Acting Head of the MSC.

They were briefed on the tactical roles and tasks carried out by the centre in the safety of the Omani maritime environment.

They also toured the centre’s facilities and viewed its latest equipment and technologies used in carrying out its national duties.
