Muscat: The General Administration for Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Control has arrested three infiltrators of Asian nationalities on charges of smuggling narcotics in association with an international gang and entering the Sultanate of Oman illegally.
The police stated, in a tweet via its official account on Twitter, that the seized quantity amounted to 28 kilograms of crystal, 21 kilograms of morphine, and 10 kilograms of hashish.
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) is completing the legal procedures against those arrested.
Lieutenant-Colonel Abdul Hakim bin Saleh Al Siyabi, the Director of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control Department led by the South Al Batinah Governorate Police had said in a previous interview that the Sultanate of Oman is affected by drug crimes for two important reasons, one of which is the geographical location and the other for its proximity to the places where these substances and toxins are produced.
