Oman reports first COVID death in 47 days

Muscat: The first death due to COVID-19 in 47 days has been recorded in the Sultanate of Oman.

The Ministry of Health announced on Sunday the registration of one new death from COVID-19.

The statistics of the Ministry of Health indicate that the last death recorded in the Sultanate of Oman was on Monday, November 8, 2021, bringing the cumulative number of deaths due to this disease in the Sultanate to 4,114.

It is worth noting that in November 2021 two deaths were recorded, while in October 2021, the Sultanate of Oman witnessed the registration of 15 deaths as a result of COVID-19.

The ministry has also recorded 121 new cases of the virus during the past three days, 43 on Thursday, 31 on Friday, and 47 on Saturday, bringing the total number of cases registered in the Sultanate of Oman to 305,105, while the recovery rate reached 98.4 per cent.

With three new hospitalised cases, the total rose to 13 cases, including two in intensive care.
