Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority received more than 400 complaints from consumers in 22 days.
A statement issued online by Consumer Protection Authority (PACP) said, “The Consumer Protection Authority, represented by its directorates and departments, received from 25th July to 15th August of this year 420 reports from consumers, which were received through Authority's accounts on social networks, in addition to the authority's hotline."
PACP also said, "All the reports were dealt with according to their data, as those reports varied between a number of sectors such as food consumables, restaurants and cafes, electrical and electronic devices, contracting and building materials, in addition to vehicle repair workshops and other sectors supervised by the authority."
"It is noteworthy that the authority is making strenuous efforts to communicate with consumers, whether to follow up their complaints or receive reports from them, especially with the closure of the auditors' halls in implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Committee in charge of examining the mechanism of dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the COVID-19," the statement added.
