Ministry of Health launches application for medical supervision

Muscat: Ministry of Health launches an application for medical supervision of people subjected to health isolation.

The medical supervisor application is available in five languages such as Arabic, English, Hindi, Bengali and Urdu so that it can be used by different nationalities residing in the Sultanate.

The Ministry of Health said, "The application for medical supervision is supported by an electronic bracelet, where the people subject to isolation are required to download it."

The application is characterised by the feature of speaking with the virtual support team through the medical detector icon, through which a person's health condition is evaluated by analyzing symptoms automatically, which facilitates the continuous follow-up of the isolated person and directing them to health institutions at the appropriate time.

The ministry added, "The system aims to limit the spread of the disease by raising the efficiency of the geographical tracking of cases in which isolation has been applied, and evaluating the extent of its adherence to the isolation instructions as well as tracking the "case contacts", especially in light of the increasing number of cases in various governorates."

"In addition, the new system is also likely to contribute to reducing infection-related rumours in some areas," they added.

The ministry explained, "The application will alert the users if there is a person wearing a smart bracelet near to him, in case of activating the GPS service and Bluetooth."
