Over 100 expat workers deported from Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Manpower, represented by inspection teams in Muscat governorate, deported more than 100 workers for violation of laws.

The deportations occurred as part of the continuous efforts made by the Ministry of Manpower to monitor and follow up implementation of provisions of the Labour Laws and regulation of the the labor market. The Ministry said in a statement on Friday, “The Ministry, represented by the inspection team in Muscat during the period January 26-February 1, 2020, deported 108 of the violating workforce.”

The statement added, "They were caught within the inspection campaigns aimed to implement the provisions of the Labour Law and the regulation of the labour market.”

The Ministry affirmed the need to adhere to the laws and ministerial decisions implemented.
