#ReadersResponse: Residents and citizens in the country were excited to welcome two of Bollywood’s A-listers to Oman, and are hoping many more will come to the Sultanate in the future.
Over the past two weeks, Oman hosted megastar Shah Rukh Khan, when he arrived in the country to promote his new film Zero, before newlyweds — actress Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas — came here for a short honeymoon.
The presence of Bollywood stars Priyanka Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan, as well as US rock star Nick Jonas, left residents and citizens in Oman excited.
“Oman is a beautiful country for a honeymoon,” said Shahid Laghari, while Deepika Bhatnager added, “Welcome to beautiful Oman.” Sarita Bhat said, “No one will disturb you here, enjoy your honeymoon peacefully. Oman is after all a great place and one of the best countries.”

Manakal Samuel was also happy to see the lovey-dovey couple here in the Sultanate and said, “Oman is a great place, blessed with amazing nature and is perfect for spending a peaceful time. Congratulations to the young couple,” with Jamal Hossain adding, “Congratulations, and welcome to Oman, it is the best country in the world.”
Nethmi Giganage was also excited to see the young couple in Oman. “Wow, this is really nice! Welcome to Oman,” and Khan Mubeen said, “Oman is a beautiful country full of lovely people.” Mohammed Mahin Uddin said, “Good decision by the young couple. Welcome to Oman.”
Omani national Salma Al Naamani was also happy to see Priyanka and Nick in the country. Bollywood films are after all extremely popular among the local populace, and they often flock to theatres to catch the latest releases.
“Welcome to Oman, brother and sister,” she said. “This truly is a beautiful country.”
Shah Rukh Khan was also welcomed with much excitement when he came to the country to promote his new film Zero, which is expected to release later this year. He was in Oman as part of a three-nation tour of the Middle East, having also visited Kuwait and the UAE last weekend. While here, he gave a press conference, and also danced with members of the public at City Centre Muscat, much to the amusement and delight of all those who had assembled.
“I can’t wait to have this fun experience with him,” said Williams Shari. “I hope to catch him on time,” with Guljar Hussain saying, “Welcome to Oman, King Khan,” and Sam Mohammed Hanif said, “Welcome to Oman, you world famous hero.”
Ismail Faiz said, “God willing I got to see him, I am feeling blessed,” and Sajid Khan added, “Wow! Welcome to Oman, Shah Rukh Khan,” but Muskaan Kukreja was sad to have missed out on meeting the king of Bollywood, saying, “I missed you this time, my superstar.”
Angela Yusuf was also excited to see him here, “I am your number one fan, Shah Rukh Khan,” she said. “I love to watch your movies”, even as Emila Dey Dutta quipped, “Whenever I am in India, SRK visits Oman. This is bad luck for me.”
This is not the first time in the recent past that Shah Rukh Khan has visited Oman. The Bollywood superstar was here last December to open several chains of a new jewellery store in the country.
“Wow, wonderful,” said Zhalmah Johnson. “This is the second time he’s visited since I’ve been in the Gulf and I did not have a chance to meet him the first time.” Basit Sultan Tanoli added, “Welcome to the Sultanate, Shah Rukh Khan. Indeed you are a matchless and brilliant actor.”
