MUSCAT: Nautilus Swimming Club held its Second Annual Swim Meet recently to mark the 48th National Day of Oman.
A total of 447 swimmers representing 19 teams from Bahrain, Qatar, UAE and Oman marvelled the audience with their skills.
Being the only swimming club with an Olympic coaching team on board, Nautilus, who famously organised this meet, goes regional, by highlighting the importance of swimming and creating an opportunity for young swimmers to achieve international standards.
The Club’s ‘Learn to Swim’ programme, swimmers progressed to enter the meet as competitive swimmers and made their coaches and families proud by earning their first ever medals.
The top three teams, Nautilus Swimming Club with 101 swimmers, British School Muscat Marlins with 97 swimmers and The American British Academy Vipers with 54 swimmers stole the spotlight.
Many independent teams registered their swimmers for the meet. The dedicated coaches of all the teams were appreciated by Nautilus, who shares the same passion for making the sport of swimming more accessible.
The meet was a great success; teams from Bahrain, Qatar and UAE assured re-entry at the next swim meet to be held by Nautilus Swimming Club in 2019.
