Arabesque International to present concert with six Omani schools

Muscat: Arabesque International is bringing to Oman a special concert as part of the second season of the Muscat Chamber Music Series.
The concert will bring to the stage pianist Ahmed Abouzahra, General Manager of Arabesque International, together with his wife, pianist Nora Emödy and their daughters - Amira and Mariam, who are talented violin players.
Ahmed and Nora have been playing together as a duo (Horus Piano Duo) for 19 years and this will be a reunion to celebrate music and their return to the stage, not as a duo but as a family.
The Horus Piano Duo will be performing in Muscat for the first time since their last appearance in 2012 at the Royal Opera House Muscat. This unique pair is an amalgamation of two different cultures, with Ahmed Abou-Zahra, an Egyptian national, and Nora Emödy, a Hungarian national.
The two pianists naturally had an influence on their daughters’ musical journey- Amira and Mariam are both violin players with several international performances to their credit. Amira has been playing the violin since she was four. Mariam, the youngest musician in the family, followed in the footsteps of her sister Amira, and started playing the violin when she was only three.
The surprise element in this concert will be the performance of a choir with 100 children participating from six different schools in Muscat. If you wish to see more of Mariam, you can attend her performance at the Royal Opera House Muscat on April 20. This will be an excellent prelude to concert that will follow a week later.
The concert is scheduled for April 26 from 7.30pm at the ABA-An IB World School in al Khuwair under the patronage of Hans-Christian Freiherr von Reibnitz, German Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman.
