ABU DHABI: The National Omani tent pegging team will take part in the 3rd World Tent Pegging Cup, which will kick-off on Monday in Abu Dhabi and continue until November 2 with the participation of 12 teams.
The national team completed its preparations after finishing its internal camp, which lasted more than two months on Al Rahba Farm. It was joined by the Yemeni team in the last days in a joint camp in order to compete and gain more experience between the two teams. The Omani Federation in cooperation with the government cavalry units provide horses and other needs to the Yemeni team in an effort to find all aspects of cooperation between the two countries in order to promote real partnership in the development of this international game.
Twelve teams are competing for the World Cup title, namely the Sultanate, Norway, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, South Africa, Sudan, India, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan and Iraq. The participating countries are seeking titles after qualifying from five qualifying championships last year and this year.
