Oman celebrates national physical activity day

Muscat: A number of groups throughout the Sultanate have been participating in various activities to mark Omani Physical Activity Day.
Schools, health clinics, businesses, and ministers have all stepped outside and participated in some sort of exercise for the day, the theme this year for which is "Health begins with a step". Khatwa (Arabic for step) is the national media and marketing campaign, which aims to promote physical activity, targeting all residents in the Sultanate.
In addition to daytime events taken place in Oman, Khatwa will be organising a celebration at Sahwa Gardens from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm that is open to all.
The event is partnered with the Ministry of Health, National Committee for Non-Communicable Diseases, and the Ministry of Sports Affairs.
