Muscat: The National Committee for Civil Defence held an extraordinary meeting under His Excellency the Inspector General of Police and Customs, and Chairman of the National Committee for Civil Defence.

During the meeting, the main preparedness efforts done in dealing with the cyclonic situation that were expected to be exposed in the Dhofar region were outlined. The Committee affirmed its continued enhancement of resources and capabilities necessary to reduce the effects of the situation, and all that would sustain the domestic, medical and other basic requirements for the preservation of life and property.
His Excellency also directed the members of the committee to take all necessary measures to support the response operations in Dhofar and Central governorates, and to provide them with the necessary resources and capacities. He stressed the committee's keenness to meet all requirements and requirements to deal effectively with the situation.
