Muscat: Dr. Rawiya bint Saud Al Busaidiyah, Minister of Higher Education, received a delegation from the International Development Ireland (IDI), which is currently visiting the Sultanate.
The two sides explored potential aspects of cooperation with the visiting delegation to benefit from the experience of the Irish “Action Plan for Job” in supporting the Sultanate’s government efforts to create job opportunities for Omani youth and some proposals that can be made to employ the Omani graduates.
Dr. Rawiya briefed the visiting delegation on higher education in the Sultanate, and the programmes offered by the Ministry in the internal and external scholarships, as well as educational institutions that are supervised by the ministry.
Members of the Irish delegation provided a brief overview of Ireland’s employment experience through its “Action Plan for Jobs” under which all government departments and agencies work together to achieve the agreed action points each year to create the conditions conducive to job creation by removing obstacles and challenges that hinder creating employment opportunities, supporting rehabilitation and training programmes and facilitating opportunities for corporate growth.
