Muscat: Oman turned off lights for an hour on Saturday for to observe the annual global Earth Hour.
The Environment Society of Oman’s (ESO) had requested people to turn off lights from 8:30pm to 9:30pm to raise awareness about conservation and saving energy.
The global theme of Earth Hour this year was “Connect2Earth”.
In line with the theme, this year’s ESO event held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher focused on the Arabian Sea humpback whales.
