Muscat: A multinational audience gathered at French Residency in Muscat recently to celebrate Francophone Week, Gallic culture and linguistic diversity, featuring the melodies of classical chanson.
The event was kicked-off by Renaud Salins, the Ambassador of France to the Sultanate. Hundreds were then entertained by a series of chanson songs performed by the Norman band Debaduo.
Francophone Week is being organised by the French Embassy in Oman in partnership with the Centre Franco-Omanais, Institut Francais, and the Organisation Internationale De la Francophonie.
The event is held annually to promote the heritage of the world's French speaking nations and encourage multiculturalism.
