Muscat: The works of 17 contemporary Pakistani artists will be exhibited at the Omani Society for Fine Arts (OSFA) from April 2.
The exhibition titled “Spectrum” will feature a wide range of fine artworks, including genres of figurative, landscape, abstract, contemporary and Quranic calligraphy.
The exhibition is aimed at reinforcing ties between the two nations, as well as to showcase incredible artwork from some of the finest artists in Pakistan and engage art enthusiasts in Muscat with the country’s cultural and artistic landscape.
“We have held five such art exhibitions in the past six years in which some 52 artists from Pakistan have presented their artwork at OSFA and conducted workshops and lectures on art as well,” said one of the members of the organising committee.
“This exhibition provides a new platform for all the art lovers from both Oman and Pakistan to come together and celebrate the true colours of joy,” the member added.
Mariam Al Zadjali, OSFA Director, endorsed the event as an opportunity for artistic dialogue and interaction between art and society in Muscat, while hoping the 2018 edition of the event will be as successful as the last one.
Similar to previous exhibitions, the proceeds from Spectrum will be donated to a social cause in the Sultanate. This year the contribution will be towards the Oman Autism Society.
Spectrum will be held from April 2 to 12 from 10am to 1pm and 5pm to 8pm at OSFA, Al Sarooj, behind Al Shatti Cinema.
