Muscat: The region’s osteopathic future will be outlined on Thursday night, when the fourth Arab Spinal Conference kicks off in Muscat.
The landmark event will welcome several spinal doctors and surgeons to exchange best practices and highlight the latest advancements in treating spinal conditions.
The three-day event will be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibitions Centre (OCEC) and will open under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health.
Dr. Ali Mahad Al Mashani, President and Chairman of the Arab Spine Society, said in a statement to delegates: “Come along with the family. Apart from the scientific programme, there is much more in the social and sightseeing aspect of the conference. Accompanying delegates, women, and children will have more than enough to enjoy their stay in Muscat, while we discuss scientific and academic issues.”
“Once again, extending a very warm welcome and looking forward to seeing you all,” he added.
Millions of people in all continents across the world suffer from spinal disorders, including lower back pain, neck pain, scoliosis, and disc disease, to name a few. Spinal pain and disability can have a profound effect on a person’s overall health, sometimes preventing him/her from working or even doing simple daily activities.
Research has demonstrated that poor posture and inactivity are major contributors to the development of back pain and other spinal disorders. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), one in four adults is not active enough and over 80 per cent of the adolescent population is not active enough.
