Oman's blood bank makes urgent appeal for donation

Muscat: The Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) in Oman ask community to donate blood or platelets as liver transplantation is scheduled next week, making a special appeal for AB+ blood donors.

"In the coming week, a liver transplantation is scheduled. There is a need for regular donors to donate blood and platelets from February 11 to 17, 2018," DBBS announced online, saying that donors could visit the blood bank at their premises in Bausher.

They added, "Someone is giving a piece of his liver to save a life, why you don't give something too? Donate Blood."
