Muscat: Expat parents will now have to pay OMR50 to register their children into government schools in the Sultanate, according to a new ministerial decision issued by the Ministry of Education.
The ministerial decision No. 34/2018, issued by Dr. Madeeha bint Ahmed bin Nassir Al Shaibaniyah Minister of Education, determines fees for services provided by the Ministry of Education.
The new decision contains three tables displaying 38 different services. It also includes the previous 17 services outlined in the former ministerial decision No. 298/ 2016.
Some of the main services outlined in the decision are registration of non-Omani students into government schools (OMR50), services for non-Omani students in public schools (OMR100).
Similarly, the fee for a permit for establishing an international school has been fixed at OMR1,000, and for the waiver or sale of the licence granted to an international school it has been fixed at OMR3,000.
