Muscat: More than six thousand citizens landed jobs in the private sector in the last 13 months, according to latest government figures.
This comes in continuation of the efforts exerted by all governmental and private bodies to provide job opportunities for job seekers, as approved by the Council of Ministers.
A total of 6,217 citizens were appointed by various private sector institutions during the period from December 3, 2017 to January 9, 2018.
Of that number, 3,161 had certificates below General Education Diploma, 2,010 had General Education Diploma, 955 had university diploma and university degrees.
The Ministry of Manpower said in a press release on the progress of the programme to provide 25 thousand jobs for citizens that 2,463 males and 698 females with certificates below General Education Diploma, 1,176 males and 925 females with General Education Diploma, 600 males and 355 females with university diploma and university degrees were appointed in private sector companies and institutions.
The Ministry of Manpower stressed that the government is continuing to provide employment opportunities that have been approved according to the plan currently being implemented to accommodate job seekers in the private sector.
