Muscat: Oman football fans travelling to Kuwait to cheer on their national team in their semi-final game against Bahrain at the Gulf Cup cannot wait for the game to begin.
Times of Oman’s very own Shruthi Nair caught up with fans who were boarding flights to Kuwait City at Muscat International Airport.
“I am really excited, because finally, football is back in Oman,” exclaimed one fan. “It’s going to be epic, and hopefully, we can win and go to the finals. I have been following the Oman national team since 2011, and have been going to all the games in Bousher, but this is my first game outside Oman.”
“I would probably go for the goalkeeper, because he is a newcomer and he is doing well,” added another, when asked who his favourite player among the current squad was. “We haven’t seen him on the pitch for Oman for over two years, and we are really hyped to see our team get good marks again. We are expecting anything but a loss. We are going to win, one hundred percent. We are confident of this.”
