Sayyid Fahd visits Oman's State Council, Majlis Al Shura

Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, on Wednesday visited the State Council and Majlis Al Shura.
Upon arrival to the State Council, Sayyid Fahd was received by Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council and members of the executive. Upon his arrival to Majlis Al Shura, Sayyid Fahd was received by Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of Majlis Al Shura and members of the executive office.
During the visit, Sayyid Fahd expressed his happiness for meeting chairmen of State Council and Majlis Al Shura in response to their invitation to visit the edifice, which is one of the fruits of the blessed era for the Sultanate under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. Sayyid Fahd held talks with them on a number of issues of interest for the citizens of the Sultanate.
He pointed out that the Omani Shura experience has reached advanced stages in meeting the social and economic development of the state and the government gives top priority to the activation of role of the Council of Oman.

He also highlighted the important role played by the Council of Oman in ensuring the success of general policies and the development plans for enhancing the Sultanate’s potentials and achieving the public interests for the current and future generations.
Sayyid Fahd stressed the importance of enhancing joint cooperation among the government, the Council of Oman and other public institutions through consultative meetings and exchanging views on everything that may serve the interests of the citizens and the nation.
He also stressed the importance of enhancing awareness that targets Omani youths who can turn their aspirations towards good living into reality and who can contribute to the building of the nation through diversifying sources of national economy and maximising the gains from the investments in a number of sectors that provide more job opportunities for individuals.
On their parts, the chairmen and members of the executive offices for the State Council and Majlis Al Shura expressed their joy for Sayyid Fahd’s visit and asserted their keenness to continue cooperation with the government in addressing different issues in a constructive and wise way that serve the interests of the country and citizens. They also expressed utmost thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the Sultan for the care accorded to these councils and for supporting their views and proposals that are in line with the development witnessed by the Sultanate.
