Oman ranked second in higher education openness

Muscat: Oman has been ranked second in the Arab world and ninth globally in openness of higher education systems, according to a report by the British Council that measures student mobility.
Oman also ranked second in sustainable development policies and 12th internationally in national policy and regulatory structure to support international student mobility.
The 'shape of global higher education' report published in July aimed to measure government support for international higher education engagement. The study covers 38 countries including France, India, USA, Austrailia, and South Africa.
The findings revealed that the majority of countries support student and academic mobility in addition to sustainable development policies. Overall, higher education is viewed as vital for many national governments, as a results systems national policy and systems are becoming increasingly collaborative.
