Supreme Judiciary Council hosts meeting of change management teams for government digital transformation

Muscat: The Supreme Judiciary Council hosted on Tuesday the periodic meeting of change management teams for government digital transformation, organised in partnership with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

The event saw the participation of several digital transformation and change management teams from government institutions.

The organisation of the meeting comes within the framework of enhancing cooperation and integration among government institutions, as well as exchanging expertise and experiences in the field of change management, thereby contributing to supporting the targets of government digital transformation, elevating institutional readiness to keep pace with technological developments, and consolidating a culture of institutional development and innovation.

Issa Hamad Al Azri, Secretary General of the Supreme Judiciary Council, stressed in his opening speech that digital transformation has become a comprehensive shift in work methods, institutional culture, and service delivery mechanisms. He pointed out that change management represents one of the primary factors for the success of digital transformation initiatives and the sustainability of their outcomes, through engaging human capabilities, building trust, raising awareness, and empowering employees to keep pace with developments.

He explained that this transformation constitutes a fundamental pillar for developing the judicial system, enhancing its efficiency, and elevating the quality of judicial and legal services, thereby contributing to achieving speed and transparency while facilitating access to services for beneficiaries and litigants. He noted that the Council's efforts in this area have contributed to building a more flexible and sustainable work ecosystem that enables the provision of services and operations around the clock, seven days a week.

The meeting featured a panel discussion titled "Digital Transformation in the Judicial System," which reviewed experiences and practices associated with developing judicial work, the impact of modern technologies on improving procedures and services, alongside introducing the remote trials experience and its role in developing the judicial workflow system.

The meeting programme also included several working papers addressing multiple themes, most notably planning and implementation from a leadership perspective, leadership during change, and the role of leadership in establishing psychological safety during digital transformations. This was in addition to discussing institutional culture, challenges facing change processes, mechanisms for measuring change management efforts, and the importance of placing people at the heart of transformation.

The meeting aims to strengthen communication and knowledge sharing among change management teams across government institutions, leverage successful experiences, and align efforts toward achieving a sustainable digital transformation rooted in developing institutional performance and elevating the quality of government services.
